Afya board member Maria Tereza Azevedo to resign December 2025

Afya Limited (NASDAQ: AFYA) announced that board member Maria Tereza Azevedo will resign from the company's Board of Directors effective December 31, 2025.

The Brazil-based medical education company said Azevedo notified the company of her intent to step down from her position. The company thanked her for her contributions to the board.

Following Azevedo's departure, Afya's Board of Directors will consist of nine members. The board includes two co-chairmen, with Nicolau Carvalho Esteves representing the Esteves family and Kay Krafft representing Bertelsmann SE&Co. KGaA. Additional members include Renato Tavares Esteves from the Esteves family, Benedikt Dalkmann and Christina Krebs from Bertelsmann, and four independent directors.

The independent directors are João Paulo Seibel de Faria, Vanessa Claro Lopes, Miguel Filisbino Pereira de Paula, and Marcelo Ken Suhara.

Afya operates as a medical education group and medical practice solutions provider in Brazil. The company trades on NASDAQ under the ticker AFYA and on Brazil's B3 exchange as A2FY34.
