Acadia Healthcare Company, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACHC) announced the appointment of Debra K. Osteen as chief executive officer, effective immediately. Osteen, a former board member and previous CEO of the company, succeeds Chris Hunter, who is departing both the company and its board of directors.

Osteen previously served as Acadia's CEO from December 2018 to March 2022 and remained a director until 2024. Before joining Acadia, she spent 19 years as executive vice president of Universal Health Services, Inc. (NYSE: UHS) and president of UHS's behavioral health division.

Reeve Waud, chairman of Acadia's board, stated that Osteen will serve in the role while the board conducts a search for a long-term successor. The board cited ongoing macro headwinds facing healthcare providers as a factor in the leadership transition timing.

The company simultaneously reaffirmed its full-year 2025 financial guidance, maintaining expectations for revenue between $3.28 billion and $3.30 billion, adjusted EBITDA in the range of $601 million to $611 million, and adjusted earnings per share between $1.94 and $2.04. This guidance was previously updated in a December 2, 2025 press release and reiterated during management's presentation at the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference on January 13, 2026.

Acadia operates 278 behavioral healthcare facilities with approximately 12,500 beds across 40 states and Puerto Rico as of September 30, 2025. The company employs approximately 25,500 people and serves more than 82,000 patients daily, positioning it as the largest stand-alone behavioral healthcare company in the United States.

The information was disclosed in a company press release statement.
