Abcourt Mines names Loïc Bureau as chief operating officer
Abcourt Mines Inc. (TSX Venture: ABI) (OTCQB: ABMBF) appointed Loïc Bureau as chief operating officer, effective immediately, according to a company statement. Bureau resigned from the company's board of directors to focus on operational activities.
Bureau holds a geological engineering degree from Polytechnique Montréal and has over 20 years of experience in mining operations management and executive leadership. He previously served as general manager at Pershimco Resources Inc., overseeing operations and budget management in Canada, Mexico, and Panama.
Following his role at Pershimco, Bureau joined the Mineral Technology Department at Cégep de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue. He also served as chairman of the board of directors of Pershimex Resources, leading the company through its merger with Abcourt Mines.
"I am pleased to join the Abcourt Mines team and to actively contribute to the execution of the Corporation's operational plan," Bureau stated in the release. He cited the recent return to production of the Sleeping Giant mine as a strategic milestone.
Pascal Hamelin, president and CEO, said Bureau's arrival would be an asset for growth and the start of production at the Sleeping Giant Mine. The company also announced that Noureddine Mokaddem would serve as the new chairman of the board.
The Quebec-based gold producer also provided an update on its agreement with Glencore AG, stating that the parties are progressing toward a final agreement for senior debt financing of up to $30 million and a production purchase agreement. The initial binding terms were announced on December 22, 2025.
Abcourt owns the Sleeping Giant mill and mine and the Flordin property in northwestern Quebec, where it concentrates its activities.
