A2Gold acquires 26 mining claims at Taylor project in Nevada

A2Gold Corp. (TSXV: AUAU) announced it acquired a 100% interest in 26 lode mining claims within its Taylor Silver-Gold Project in White Pine County, Nevada. The company paid $225,000 in cash, issued 316,377 common shares, and granted a 1.0% net smelter return royalty to the vendors.

The RT/JO Claims are located within the core of the Taylor Project and were previously held by other parties. The acquisition consolidates the Taylor District under single ownership for the first time, according to the company.

The acquired claims are positioned adjacent to areas of known mineralization and portions of the existing silver resource footprint. A2Gold stated the transaction eliminates ownership constraints that could have affected exploration and development activities.

"For the first time, the Taylor District has been consolidated into a single district-scale project under one operator," said Peter Gianulis, CEO of A2Gold. "These claims occupy a strategic position within the heart of the district and are important to our efforts to expand the existing silver resource, evaluate additional gold targets, and further investigate the growing antimony opportunity at Taylor."

A2Gold retains the right to repurchase half of the NSR royalty for $500,000 during the first three years following the transaction closing.

The company indicated the claims may be relevant for expanding its existing silver resource and exploring gold and antimony mineralization in the area. A2Gold owns three gold projects in Nevada, with Taylor being part of its portfolio alongside the Eastside Gold-Silver Project.
