60 Degrees Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: SXTP; SXTPW) announced a partnership with GoodRx Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: GDRX) to provide prescription savings of up to 30% for ARAKODA (tafenoquine), the company's malaria prevention medication.

Starting February 2, eligible patients can access reduced self-pay pricing for ARAKODA at more than 70,000 pharmacies nationwide through GoodRx's platform. The medication can also be delivered to patients' homes when available.

ARAKODA is an FDA-approved, once-weekly prescription medication for malaria prevention in patients 18 years and older. The drug received FDA approval in 2018 and is marketed as the only broad-spectrum, weekly malaria prophylaxis available in the U.S. market.

The medication is prescribed for travelers visiting malaria-endemic regions. Patients take 200 mg daily for three days before travel, 200 mg weekly during travel for up to six months, and 200 mg in the week following travel.

Tafenoquine was originally discovered by the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. The drug carries several contraindications, including glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, history of psychotic disorders, and hypersensitivity to the medication or its components.

60 Degrees Pharmaceuticals, founded in 2010, focuses on developing medicines for vector-borne diseases. The Washington, D.C.-based company also markets ARAKODA in Australia under the name KODATEF.
