UBS analyst Michael Lasser raised the price target on Walmart (NYSE: WMT) to $122.00 (from $110.00) while maintaining a Buy rating.
The analyst commented, "Data sits at the backbone of Walmart's enterprise, serving as one of the most critical drivers of its day-to-day operations and long-term strategy. It permeates every facet of the business. WMT formed Walmart Data Ventures in 2021 to capitalize on the information it gleams from the approximately 270 million customers and members that shop across its 10,500 stores and websites in 19 countries. This business provides high-quality, actionable first-party data to suppliers, merchants, and brands. Walmart’s data powers its entire ecosystem, not just its second P&L. Its use cases are vast. It drives Walmart's retail media business. At the same time, it helps Walmart optimize inventory levels. Its data is a unique asset that other retailers would have difficulty replicating."
