A few analysts have weighed in on Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) following today's Apple Watch event. Below we highlighted some commentary:
Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Brian White - "We view today's event as the most important product event for Apple since the company unveiled the iPad to the world in January 2010 (launched in April 2010)... We are projecting Apple Watch to go down as the best selling, new product category (in first 12 months of availability) in Apple's history. Our current model reflects Apple Watch units of 20.6 million in the first year on the market (vs. 19.5 million for the iPad)." (Buy, $160 PT)
Stifel analyst Aaron Rakers - "Largely as expected product feature overview w/ pricing, availability, and battery life in focus.... We maintain our C2015 Apple Watch estimates at 11.8 million units; $5.6B in revenue (or $473 ASP, $/unit)." (Buy, $150 PT)
BofA/Merrill Lynch analyst Wamsi Mohan - "Based on what we have seen so far, we continue to expect the Apple Watch to gain significant share and define what people should expect of its competitors." (Buy, $140 PT)
FBR Capital Daniel Ives - "With Apple apparently positioned to take the lead in what we believe could be the mainstream proliferation of wearable devices, we think a massive land grab opportunity in technology could ultimately open up another avenue/ecosystem for enterprises looking to create applications, devices, and solutions around the wearables market."
