Yesterday Endo Health Solutions (NASDAQ: ENDP) issued updated 2013 guidance that was below Street estimates.
Commenting on the development, analyst Elliot Wilbur said, "ENDP has taken the ugly stick to guidance once again . . . revised expectations capture not only the continued sluggish performance in Opana ER Rx trends and other device segments . . . but now also appear to reflect expectations of some extent of generic competition to the Opana ER franchise in 2013."
Wilbur sees downside in ENDP and is recommending investors avoid owning it.
"While valuation appears inexpensive on the surface, we believe even revised guidance contains large downside air pockets and increased near-term strategic uncertainty, such as management regime change and slipping performance metrics in non-pharma segments," said Wilbur.
