Stifel downgraded Anthem (NYSE: ANTM) from Buy to Hold with a price target of $155 (unchanged).
Analyst Thomas Carroll commented, "We are downgrading shares of Anthem (ANTM) to Hold from Buy as we step into 2017. In our view, the upcoming year (and likely several thereafter) may be challenging for a host of reasons. A key consideration is our vision for Healthcare Reform v2.0 and the likely acceleration of this inevitability (in our view) that will be driven by the Trump Administration. This, in conjunction with near-term Affordable Care Act (ACA) uncertainties, is what is likely to be an accelerating HIE utilization environment, Cigna & Express Scripts unknowns / distraction, and that appears to be a fair valuation currently informs our downgrade of ANTM from Buy to Hold. Our price target is $155."
