UBS maintains a 'Neutral' on Duke Energy (NYSE: DUK), PT raised from $18 to $19.

UBS analyst says, "EBIT was largely unchanged driven to the positive by higher international contributions (arbitration awards, contract pricing and F/X) but largely offset by Ohio customer switching, unfavorable weather and higher O&M at the core franchise. The combination of lower “other EBIT” and higher interest income also helped the YoY comparisons. Importantly, a lower e.ffective tax rate of 31% in 1Q11 vs. 34% in 1Q10 helped by about a penny and a half."

"Key investor focus areas - (1) Update on pending merger with Progress Energy; (2) status report on Edwardsport rehearing and pending ethics investigation; (3) customer switching update in Ohio and regulatory filing update(s); (4) timing of North Carolina rate case filing; (5) environmental compliance spending; (6) additional color on the recently announced joint venture with American Transmission Company.
