UBS analyst Jay Sole lowered the price target on The Children's Place (NASDAQ: PLCE) to $7.00 (from $8.00) while maintaining a Neutral rating.
The analyst commented, "PLCE's 4Q EPS of -$0.75 came in 95c below our forecast. We believe PLCE's EPS will remain under pressure through FY25 due to the tough competitive environment for children's apparel and tariffs. As a result, we lower our EPS estimates and our Price Target by $1. Despite these changes and the fact the stock price is down 35% YTD vs. the S&P 500's -9% move, we continue to see a balanced upside/downside skew. The key reason is tariffs and their possible secondary effects, which we believe could more negatively impact PLCE compared to what we have modeled in."
