Medicines Co. (Nasdaq: MDCO) is positive on the session after reporting it met the primary endpoint for the SOLO-1 Phase 3 trial.
Leerink Swann is out with comments on the news today. Analyst Joseph Schwartz said the SOLO-1 results solidify potential for M&A or a partnership.
The treatment might get a preferred hospital formulary position on the potential for it to cut the length of hospital stays and overall costs.
Schwartz sees the product bringing in $400 million to a net present value of $5 per share. Fair value estimate on Medicines is raised from $30 to $34.
Notably, Leerink is said to have had Medicines as an M&A candidate as early as November 2010.
