The analyst comments "This morning, LLY announced top-line results from the P3 TRIUMPH-1 study of retatrutide (LLY's triple G agonist) in overweight/obese adults. The results are in line with what we laid out in our ADA Preview , with the 12mg dose delivering 28.3% mean weight loss (26% pbo-adjusted) at 80 weeks. Further, levels of weight loss did not plateau, with weight loss deepening to 30.3% through the 104-week extension period, a meaningful durability differentiator, in our view. The low-dose 4 mg arm also impressed, achieving 19.0% weight loss with just a single escalation step, outperforming/in line with currently marketed GLP-1 therapies. On tolerability, the 12mg discontinuation rate of only 11.3% came in below expectations, and critically, no new safety signals emerged, particularly on the CV side, which had been a primary investor overhang given retatrutide's glucagon agonism component. The clean safety profile, combined with best-in-class efficacy across all doses, makes this a clean win for LLY.
