Piper Jaffray initiates coverage on Voyager Therapeutics (NASDAQ: VYGR) with a Overweight rating and a price target of $47.00.
Analyst Joshua E. Schimmer commented, "We are initiating coverage of VYGR with an OW rating and $47 PT based on a DCF analysis through 2022 with an 11% discount rate and 6.5% terminal growth rate. VYGR is a leader in the field of CNS gene therapy with its portfolio of CNS targeted programs, the most advanced of which targets Parkinson's disease and has demonstrated clear clinical proof of concept we believe in the most recent cohort. Beyond PD, the company's CNS focused platform is well positioned with preclinical programs targeting monogenic neurological disorders, and many of these programs have shown benefit in relevant animal models reflecting the modular potential of gene therapy. VYGR also signed a validating partnership with GENZ/SNY earlier this year with a meaningful upfront payment while retaining substantial economics and commercialization rights. As such, we see VYGR as well-positioned in the rapidly evolving neurological gene therapy space."
