Needham & Company maintains a 'Hold' on Vertex (NASDAQ: VRTX).
Analyst, Alan Carr, said, "Vertex is scheduled to announce 1Q12 financial results on April 26. Our U.S. 1Q12 Incivek net sales estimate is $372M (was $375M), based on IMS data, and our Kalydeco net sales estimate is $7.0M. Kalydeco was launched in early February 2012. Our 1Q12 GAAP EPS estimate is $0.41 (was $0.42). We are cautious overall given expected competitive pressures in HCV and challenges in developing a companion drug for Kalydeco to address the F508del CF population."
