Morgan Stanley believes that Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) is now more than ever going to return some cash to its shareholders.

The company has $76 billion in cash and investment holdings and can easily finance a $25 billion buyback plan or a 2.4 percent dividend.

An analyst at Morgan stated that tech companies who usually spend some of their cash on dividends or buybacks rather than acquisitions typically perform better in the market than their peers, but seriously, who looks at Apple as a normal company. The analyst does not rule the idea of a multibillion dollar acquisition but notes that it could be risky.

Shares of APPL closed up $2.46 or 0.65 percent yesterday and is trading up to $381.50 in the pre-market hours today.
