Oppenheimer analyst Ittai Kidron reiterated an Outperform rating on MongoDB (NASDAQ: MDB) after the company introduced its new Developer Data Platform (DDP), which consolidates the company's product portfolio into a unified platform with new features and a modern developer experience. Key new features include:
Atlas Data Lake: offers fully managed storage capabilities enabling complex analytical queries in a cost-efficient manner.
Atlas Data Federation, which allows developers to create virtual databases to query data from multiple sources.
Atlas SQL Interface, which allows data analysts primarily working in SQL to natively query and visualize Atlas data (through a read-only interface) without having to define schema or manipulate data.
The analyst stated "The ultimate goal of DDP is to serve as a go-to database platform for developers by servicing the entire data lifecycle, handling a larger number of workloads, and addressing a wider range of use cases including search and analytics. New features (like column store indexes) allow developers to maintain an index for common analytical queries without having to change document structure."
