KeyBanc Starts Prairie Operating Co (PROP) at Sector Weight

KeyBanc analyst Tim Rezvan initiates coverage on Prairie Operating Co (NASDAQ: PROP) with a Sector Weight rating.

The analyst comments: "We initiate coverage of Prairie Operating Co. (“Prairie”) with a SW rating. Prairie is a DJ Basin-focused operator with assets in the rural part of the play in Weld County, CO. The Company is a relatively new entity, created through several acquisitions of producing assets and undeveloped acreage. The founders run the Company. They used the acquisition of a micro cap crypto company’s public shell in 2023 to become public. Prairie subsequently renamed itself and uplisted to the Nasdaq exchange that year. The first quarter with production was 4Q24, following the close of a small acquisition of producing assets. The first batch of Prairie-designed and drilled wells came on-line in early 2025. The Company expects to organically grow with a one-rig drilling program in 2025-2026, which underpins the production growth in our model."
