KeyBanc initiated coverage on GCP Applied Technologies (NYSE: GCP) with a Sector Weight rating. Analyst Ivan M. Marcus sees balanced risk/reward.
"The stock has recovered since the initial sell off after being spun out to Grace (GRA) shareholders and now trades at only a modest discount to the group, which we believe is attributed to its high exposure to cyclical construction markets along with its relatively small size and above avg. leverage. While we think the gap may close over time as GCP establishes a positive track record as a public company and reduces leverage, but we view the current risk/reward as balanced at this time," said the analyst.
