The analyst comments "Summary: We are initiating coverage of Aardvark Therapeutics (ticker: AARD) with a Buy Rating and $33 PT. Aardvark is a clinical-stage biotech company focused on treating obesity and hyperphagia (excessive eating). The core of Aardvark's portfolio is ARD-101, an oral small molecule agonist of TAS2R, which increases gut-localized secretion of satiety hormones, including GLP-1 and CCK. The lead program is for Prader Willi Syndrome (PWS) a rare genetic disorder characterized by extreme hyperphagia; Ph3 data are expected in 3Q26. ARD-101 is the only late-stage asset in PWS; recently approved Vykat from Soleno (SLNO, Not Rated) has put up strong initial sales numbers despite modest efficacy and safety concerns, underscoring high demand from patients and providers. Aardvark's second program is ARD-201, a fixed-dose combo of ARD-101 and a DPP-4 inhibitor for general obesity. Aardvark is running 2 Ph2 studies for ARD-201, with initial data for GLP-1 off-ramp in 2H26. Weight loss data are still TBD, but we like ARD-201 for GI tolerability, and we note both components are small molecules which will keep API costs low compared with oral incretins. Aardvark is gearing up for a transformative year with 2 major datasets in 2H26. Cash position of $141.8M provides runway in 2027. Initiate Buy and $33 PT."
