Jefferies analyst Corey Tarlowe upgraded Dollar Tree (NASDAQ: DLTR) from Underperform to Hold with a price target of $135.00 (from $85.00).
The analyst comments: “We are upgrading DLTR to Hold, as the biz has returned to being simple and straightforward. When we downgraded DLTR, our thesis centered on the operational complexity of the multi-price rollout, competitive pressure from peers, and concerns that ticket-driven growth would pressure traffic and margins. While some of these dynamics have played out, we believe comps are currently strong, with our traffic data inflecting positively, and that upside exists from multi-price. As a result, we believe this warrants an upgrade to Hold.
Traffic trends are improving even vs tough compares (2Q25 DT traffic growth is strongest in trailing 9qs), and potentially bottomed in Q1. That said, our data shows DLTR's 2Q rolling foot traffic is +1.4% vs (0.8%) in 1Q, and July foot traffic was +4.5%.”
