Jefferies is maintaining their Buy rating on shares of Hologic (NASDAQ: HOLX) following the 2011 Interdisciplinary Breast Center Conference, in which after attending became more confident in an accelerated adoption rate for HOLX's fully loaded Dimensions 3-D system. They are raising their price target to $25 from $24 as a result.

The firm reports that shares of HOLX should benefit quite well form Tomosynthesis. Jefferies is really anticipating on what price the company will set on Tomosynthesis.

Jefferies comment that "older customer accounts with General Electric (NYSE: GE) systems are vulnerable despite the improvement in the Essential system’s detector plate, potential for advanced imaging capabilities, and future promise of a commercialized Tomosynthesis platform. Further, we believe that the majority of replacement system purchases will demand Tomosynthesis capabilities making it extremely difficult for Siemens (NYSE: SI) and newer players pursuing 510k clearance to market their 2-D systems against HOLX’s platform."
