Jefferies maintains a Hold rating and $77.00 price target on Kroger (NYSE: KR) ahead of 1Q15 results. Analyst Mark Wiltamuth expects EPS of $1.20 vs. $1.22 cons. KR is scheduled to release its 1Q15 earnings report June 18th.
Wiltamuth commented, "We expect a solid 1Q15 from Kroger, driven by another fuel margin gain and a moderating core grocery comp (we trim to 4% from 5% to reflect industry softness and produce deflation). Looking ahead, YoY margin comparisons are more difficult as the company laps record fuel margins from F2014. With fuel margins turning to a headwind and valuation at the high end of KR's historical range, we see limited upside. Maintain Hold and $77 PT."
