Jefferies Comments on Amylin Pharm. (AMLN) Following Solid News at ADA

Jefferies is maintaining its Buy rating and $22 price target on shares of Amylin Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: AMLN) following a positive weekend update at ADA.

The firm believes that the company's presentations on QT data from DURATION-1 and new data on Byetta once monthly was positive and should affect the stock in the same manner.

Jefferies also noted that the news of Lilly's (NYSE: LLY) 3mg dose of dulaglutide having been discontinued from all studies due to a recommendation of a Data Safety Monitoring Board following an undisclosed safety issue observed in long term dosing is a huge positive for the company.

The firms current 2011, 2012, and 2013 EPS estimates are ($0.57), ($0.71), and ($0.03).
