Mizuho analyst Nick Setyan lowered the price target on Jack In The Box (NASDAQ: JACK) to $16.00 (from $18.00) while maintaining a Neutral rating.
The analyst commented: 'F4Q results and 2026 guidance, while better than feared, underline the lack of SSS growth, unit growth, and margin visibility. F26 guidance somewhat brackets the post-Del Taco risk, particularly around EBITDA. However, our view remains that JACK is ill-suited to compete in a protracted price war given the pressure on company-owned and franchisee profitability (17-18% F26 JIB company UL margin guidance vs. 19.1% consensus and 26.2% in F19), with risk to F26 SSS growth guidance of (1.0)-1.0% still elevated. Further evidence of a sustainable SSS growth recovery towards LSD% and >0% unit growth is needed before investors can underwrite LT flat-LSD revenue/LSD-MSD EBITDA growth vs. peers' MSD+ EBITDA growth. We lower our F26 EPS estimate to $3.50 from $4.58 and introduce our F27 EPS estimate of $3.74. Maintain Neutral and lower PT to $16 from $18."
