Guggenheim analyst Tamjid Chowdhury reiterated a Buy rating and $283.00 price target on Autodesk (NASDAQ: ADSK).

The analyst comments "We attended Autodesk University (September 15–17) and came away with our view intact: the company retains a durable moat against AI obsolescence, and is embracing AI as it navigates its customers across this paradigm shift. We initiated on the company in July of this year (see our report ADSK: Initiating at Buy; Engineered to Last, 07/22/2026). In that report, we detail how ADSK possesses three of the five moats in our AI obsolescence framework: System of Record, Regulatory or Compliance Need, and Multi-Stakeholder Platform Advantage. The keynotes, conversations on the floor, and interactions with IR and management all strengthened our view on ADSK's defensibility. We have written extensively about AI representing the next technology paradigm shift of our time, and about how the leaders of previous paradigms are not typically the leaders of the next. But we have also argued that AI is unlikely to be a death knell for traditional software. See our notes "AI: Still Early, But Not Too Early" and "The Fatal AI Bear Case on Software Is … A Hallucination." We believe traditional software companies will have to embrace AI to remain relevant, and AU made clear how ADSK is doing so. AU reinforced our view that Autodesk's value is embedded not just in the tools used to create designs, but in the proprietary project context, workflows, and data accumulated around them. Management's push to connect design, construction, and more recently operations through the next generation of Autodesk Assistant, Tandem, and MaintainX should further embed the company across its customers' asset lifecycle, while providing the domain-specific data and context necessary to make AI useful in the physical world. In our view, this positions AI less as a substitute for Autodesk and more as an additional capability layered onto an already deeply embedded system of record, and increasingly a system of action."
