Goldman Sachs trimmed its price target on E*TRADE (NASDAQ: ETFC) from $13 to $12 following the conclusion of its strategic review without a sale.
The firm doesn't think this news should surprise investors, as recent remarks from competitors showed a indicated a lack of interest in the company's asset pool.
Goldman now sees near zero likelihood of a transaction. However they continues to see value in a stand-alone E*TRADE and sees 31% upside to their new $12 price target.
The Buy rating was maintained.
