UBS analyst Peter Grom lowered the price target on General Mills (NYSE: GIS) to $49.00 (from $52.00) while maintaining a Sell rating.
The analyst commented, "GIS reported a 4Q beat but outlined FY26 guidance that fell 5% short of Street expectations on the bottom line. As we highlighted in our preview (link) and our initial take this morning (link), investors were braced for initial FY26 guidance to reflect a challenging operating environment but we think the double-digit decline in EPS at the midpoint was weaker than most anticipated and resulted in shares trading down -5% on the day. In our view, the biggest question exiting today centers on whether the company's initial outlook reflects an appropriate level of flexibility/conservatism and can be viewed as somewhat de-risked. Although we believe company is embedding a conservative/prudent approach as it relates to guidance across a number of key variables, in an environment where top line visibility is limited amidst a challenged consumer backdrop, we think it is difficult to have confidence that the top line improvement embedded in guidance is achievable at this stage."
