Evercore ISI: 'the results reinforce PEG’s positioning'

Evercore ISI analyst Nicholas Amicucci reiterated an In Line rating and $83.00 price target on Public Service Enterprise Group Inc. (NYSE: PEG).

The analyst comments "We believe PEG’s 4Q25 earnings release has positive implications for the stock. PSEG closed 2025 with a modest Q4 beat and a meaningful rebase of its forward growth algorithm. 4Q operating EPS of $0.72 came in slightly ahead of street consensus, while full-year operating EPS of $4.05 marked a solid step-up Y/Y and continued the company’s multi-decade track record of delivering at or above guidance. The key headline is the increased 2026-2030 capital plan and higher long-term EPS growth target of 6-8% through 2030 (vs. the prior 5%-7% through 2029), supported by accelerating regulated investment, constructive rate base growth, and steady nuclear output. We continue to view PEG as a “darkhorse” within the broader thematic given the upside optionality its possesses through its ability to contract nuclear capacity and incremental regulated investments. Importantly, we believe the education process between PSE&G and the new governor of New Jersey are well underway, which we believe could set up for potential positive announcements in the latter half of 2026 and into 2027 as further plans continue to develop. Together, the results reinforce PEG’s positioning as a predominantly regulated growth utility with incremental upside from nuclear optionality"
