Cowen reiterated an Outperform rating and $44.00 price target on Xylem (NYSE: XYL) ahead of an investor day. The event will allow new CEO, Patrick Decker his first opportunity to lay down some reasonable multi-year growth targets and set expectations in terms of balanced capital deployment, potentially into new platforms. The investor day is scheduled for September 24th.
Analyst Joseph Giordano commented, "We see the upcoming Investor Day as a big catalyst that could help refocus investors’ attention around new capital deployment and long-term growth opportunities. XYL stock has underperformed lately despite hitting 2Q consensus and maintaining fullyear midpoint guidance. Muni and commercial still strong. China less of an impact."
