RBC Capital analyst Walter Spracklin lowered the price target on CSX (NASDAQ: CSX) to $36.00 (from $37.00) while maintaining a Sector Perform rating.
The analyst comments "CSX reported another in-line quarter. Despite a number of headwinds that emerged during the quarter (Baltimore port outage; softer truck market; weaker domestic coal; a deterioration in operating metrics; and poor weather in Q1), the company nevertheless reiterated its guidance. We attribute this to prior conservatism as well as improved trends exiting the quarter. While CSX shares are screening as attractive, mid-single digit EPS growth is below peers. Maintain Sector Perform."
