BMO Capital analyst James M. Thalacker raised the price target on CMS Energy (NYSE: CMS) to $80.00 (from $79.00) while maintaining a Outperform rating.
The analyst commented: "CMS reported FY25 EPS of $3.61, modestly above the high end of guidance and +8% YoY. Management revised its 2026 guidance to $3.83-$3.90 (+3c vs. initial range). Positively, we believe the refreshed five-year capital plan of $24.1bn (+ $4bn/21%) supports long-term EPS growth at the top end of management's 6-8% CAGR. Despite the negative ALJ PFD headline ROE, management expressed confidence in an outcome of 9.90% "or better" - investors' will likely look at peer DTE's upcoming Electric order for confirmation. Our MTM/SOTP target moves to $80. Reiterate Outperform."
