Bernstein SocGen's Thoughts on McDonald's (MCD) Following Investor Day

Bernstein SocGen Group analyst Danilo Gargiulo reiterated a Market Perform rating and $295.00 price target on McDonald's (NYSE: MCD).

The analyst commented: "McDonald’s 2026 Investor Day offered an ambitious vision for translating the capabilities built over the past several years into stronger growth and productivity. However, the scale of investment required to deliver McDonald’s Next was above our expectations and introduces additional pressure on near-term earnings. We came out of the investor day with greater confidence on the power of MCD’s scale (from technology to marketing and category innovation) and its long-term benefits, but with no more visibility on how the company intends to rebound sales in the near term, as (1) alignment with franchisees on elements of the value platform is still pending, (2) uplift in sales from beverage launch in the US has not been sufficiently high to offset overall sales pressure, and (3) the timing of the new chicken platform launch is further away than we anticipated."
