BNP Paribas Exane analyst Navann Ty reiterated an Outperform rating and $92.00 price target on GE HealthCare (NASDAQ: GEHC).
The analyst comments "We view this intended acquisition as an incremental positive for GEHC, which should serve to strengthen the company’s existing portfolio of neuro solutions. The transaction also fits in well with the company’s commitment building AI capabilities, an area where we view GEHC as a leader compared to peers. Finally, we view the deal as in line with the company’s capital allocation strategy including strategic M&A, most recently highlighted with 2Q25 results. Financial details were not disclosed, and we expect the acquisition to be of bolt-on nature. GEHC plans to fund the transaction with cash on hand (GEHC had a large cash balance of $3.8B at end of 2Q25). We understand the acquisition is intended to strengthen GEHC’s existing neuro solutions portfolio, including MR and PET scanners, PDx, and MIMneuro Software digital solutions. The company aims to integrate the icometrix icobrain platform to complement MR-guided AI-assisted scanning expertise. We understand GEHC will also expand access to the icobrain aria solution, which identifies both forms of ARIA: ARIA-E and ARIA-H from MR scans and performs longitudinal analysis of ARIA occurrence over time, on all vendor MRI systems through both commercial distribution and clinical integration. In our initial view, icometrix looks like a good addition to GEHC’s existing neuro capabilities. The company offers a suite of solutions across key areas including multiple sclerosis, dementia and Alzheimer’s, Amyloid Related Imaging Abnormalities (ARIA), stroke, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, Parkinson’s, and brain tumors. Moreover, we understand installation of icobridge takes five minutes, and it fits seamlessly into workflows, with a short turnaround time from scan to report of 5-10 minutes. We also note the company indicates on their website that facilities across the US have successfully implemented certain CPT codes and have submitted successful reimbursement claims related to their use of icobrain, which we view as a positive. Finally, we note, according to their website, the system integrates with platforms from a variety of industry players, including GEHC, Philips Healthcare, and Siemens Healthineers, amongst others."
