Shares of Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) are under heavy pressure today. Much of the decline is related to a disappointing outlook from another tech darling Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL), but the decline is also being attributed to cautious comments over at UBS.
UBS said, with relatively few major changes to the core text-based advertising UI and algorithms, they see little reason to believe GOOG will post upside to their 14.7% sequentially revenue growth estimates. The firm said without this revenue upside, margins could come in light.
While the firm was cautious about this quarter, they believe the long-term prospects remain positive - especially given the recent decline.
Shares of Google are off over 10% today. The stock is down over 20% this year.
