Barclays survey shows hedge funds lead AI adoption on buy-side
Investing.com -- Barclays surveyed over 400 fixed income respondents to assess artificial intelligence adoption among buy-side firms, according to the bank's Thematic FICC Research team.
The survey found that hedge funds are at the forefront of AI adoption, with widespread uptake across the buy-side. The primary value of AI implementation is concentrated in research and analytics functions rather than in trading and execution activities.
Respondents indicated that the benefits of AI are tangible, but data privacy and security remain the main constraints to broader implementation. The market is currently in a transition phase, having moved beyond the pilot stage but not yet reaching full integration into daily operations.
