In a 13D filing after the close CVR Energy (NYSE: CVI), hedge fund manager Carl Icahn disclosed a 14.54%, or 12,584,227 share, stake in the company.
This confirms a statement from the company earlier that Carl Icahn had bought a stake, although details were not made available.
Earlier the CEO said "We appreciate Mr. Icahn's interest in CVR Energy and his shared view that the company is a valuable investment opportunity. We welcome the views of all of our shareholders and routinely consider their thoughts on business and strategy as we pursue our common goal of increasing shareholder value."
