Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) and Nokia (NYSE: NOK) are lower Monday following headlines that Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) and Samsung are voicing concerns about Microsoft's acquisition of Nokia's handset business.
Google and Samsung asked China Ministry of Commerce to ensure the deal wouldn't mean higher fees issued by Nokia over wireless technology patents. The companies aired similar concerns over Microsoft and its plans for wireless patents once the deal is completed.
While Nokia and Microsoft have already secured approval by the European Union for the $7.5 billion deal, China could demand that no higher patent fees on wireless technology are implemented.
Nokia is down 0.9 percent while Microsoft is off 1.8 percent today.
