Netflix (NFLX), Roku Found Not to Infringe Rovi (ROVI) Patents

Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX) is up in early trading today following a favorable verdict issued earlier.

Bloomberg reported that the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) said Netflix and Roku didn't infringe on Rovi (Nasdaq: ROVI) patents covering interactive television program guides.

Rovi claimed that Netflix infringed on four patents, while Roku was said to infringe on one. Rovi was looking to block import of certain Roku boxes and place restrictions on some Netflix software.

This is a first-round call and the judge's findings will be reviewed with a target completion date of Octber 7th.
