Apple (AAPL) Receives 'No Go' on Further Litigation with Samsung Over iPad

Despite its best efforts, Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) will need to be satisfied with a $1.05 billion verdict against Samsung over patent infringement.
According to reports out Wednesday, U.S. District Court judge Lucy Koh denied Apple an increase in the award, which was granted August 24, 2012.
For its part, Apple noted that jurors erred in coming to the conclusion that trade dress (how a product looks) on the iPad and iPad 2 wasn't protectable. The company also sought out that Koh overturn a verdict that Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 didn't infringe on any iPad patents.
Samsung was also looking for a new trial and to overturn claims that Apple's patents are "indefinite."
Neither Samsung nor Apple commented on the ruling. Shares of Apple are indicated for a lower open Wednesday.
