First Solar (NASDAQ: FSLR) has a few things going for it, in the view of analysts at Deutsche Bank. It appears to be managing the sector downturn and has minimal exposure to the competitive pricing environment. Analyst see strength in FSLR’s project pipeline through the first quarter of next year and say the second quarter is also shaping up.

"That said, concerns about longer term development of sustainable markets and replenishment of backlog still remain. Given the recent positive share price momentum, we see limited near term upside, possibly some downside during the seasonally weak 1H13 period for solar sector," said analyst Vishal Shah.

Deutsche Bank has a Hold rating on First Solar with a price target of $17.00.
