The Wall Street rumor mills continues to churn. The latest talk centers around JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM) CEO Jamie Dimon leaving the company to join the Obama administration as Treasury Secretary.
This rumor is nothing new. In fact, Warren Buffett endorsed Mr. Dimon for the job in a November 26th interview on Charlie Rose. Buffett said Dimon would be "terrific" and the "best person you could have in the job."
In a August 2011 CNBC interview, Dimon said he had no interest in the job. "If you know me at all, I am not suited for politics."
Despite signs pointing to Dimon not leaving JPMorgan anytime soon, shares gave back a little into the close of trading Monday as the rumored swirled. Shares of JPMorgan Chase finished down 0.59 percent to $42.31.
