Elan Corp. (NYSE: ELN) and Novartis (NYSE: NVS) shares are ticking higher following the FDA extending the initial PDUFA date for its review of the New Drug Application (NDA) for the marketing approval of Biogen Idec's (Nasdaq: BIIB) BG-12 (dimethyl fumarate).
BG-12 would compete with Biogen/Elan's Tysabri, Teva's (Nasdaq: TEVA) Copaxone, Sanofi's (NYSE: SNY) Aubagio, and Novartis' Gilenya.
