Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) shares are higher in early trading amid pressure from the EU over warranty disclosure practices.
According to reports out early, EU Justice Commissioner Viviane Reding made a plea to the 27 member countries, asking them to check whether or not Apple retailers failed to advertise a buyers right to a minimum two-year product warranty, as specified under EU law. Apple broadly advertised a one-year manufacturer warranty, the statement read.
Potential probes are on iPhone and iPad device sales. Nothing has surmised yet.
Reding called Apple's actions "unacceptable marketing practices."
It's unlikely that any fines will be material to Apple. Shares are up 0.6 percent Monday morning.
