Look no further than wholesale technology products distributor Tech Data (Nasdaq: TECD) to get a sense of what enterprise customers are doing. And what they are doing is essentially what retail customers are doing... buying Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPad tablets and moving away from PCs.

On its call last night, Tech Data said HP (NYSE: HPQ) represented 20% of their sales in the current quarter compared to 25% in the prior-year second quarter. Meanwhile, Apple represented 12% of their sales in the quarter compared to 7% in the prior-year second quarter. Apple was 10% last quarter.

CFO Jeff Howells said he hasn't seen such a quick and rapid change in their product mix since the early '90s.

HPQ, which reports third quarter results after the close, is down 3.5 percent. Meanwhile, Apple is up 1.9 percent.
