Smith & Wesson Holding Corporation (Nasdaq: SWHC) is ripping higher early Monday morning following an updated outlook for its fourth-quarter 2012 sales.

The company reported preliminary Q4 net sales of $129 million, versus prior guidance of $113 million to $118 million and expectations of $119.8 million.

Preliminary firearm order backlog increased to approximately $439 million as of April 30, 2012, an increase of $252 million, or 135%, compared with the end of the fourth quarter last year, and an increase of $240 million, or 121%, compared with the most recent sequential quarter.
