Wall Street Firms Positive on FedEx (FDX) as Third Quarter Delivers

This morning, Dahlman Rose reiterated a 'Buy' on FedEx (NYSE: FDX) and raises estimates for 2012 (from $6.30 to $6.40), but cuts FY13 by $0.05 to $7.50. Dahlman said things are evening out, a tempered economic environment versus cost cutting, so as business continues on the upswing, so will FDX.

Also today, Barclays raised its numbers on FDX, including raising FY12 from $6.29 to $6.59 and FY13 EPS from $7.45 to $7.55

Barclays analyst, Brandon R. Oglenski, said, "We acknowledge the fuel risk, but believe pricing momentum and capacity reductions will allow FDX to generate higher profitability, even at current energy prices. We reiterate FDX as our top pick within transportation..."

Barclays maintains an 'Overweight' on FDX, raises its price target from $116 to $119.

NOTE - Yesterday, March 22, 2012, FedEx reported Q3 EPS of $1.55, $0.20 better than estimates. Revenues were $10.56 billion vs consensus estimate of $10.62 billion.
