Apple (AAPL) Facing More Trouble in China with SIM Card Issue

According to the Chinese language site Jinghua.cn, Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) confirmed it's having trouble with the China Mobile (NYSE: CHL) SIM card used in its iPhone 4S. According to both Apple and China Mobile, some users have had trouble activating the card, while others have completely lost signal at points or cannot make a phone call despite indications of a strong signal.

Jinghua.cn said employees have identified the problem and a fix is being worked on right now.

For those that can't wait, Jinghua.cn also said an "unofficial" fix has been made, "which includes amending the iPhone’s network settings on the device and upgrading to Apple’s 9A406 iOS update." It's not known whether this fix will cover the issue for all China Mobile users.

With controversy surrounding the launch of the iPhone 4S in China last month, things have gotten off to a rocky start for Apple.
