Interbrands released it's ranking for the best global brands of 2011...and results were more predictable than three ewoks and seven storm troopers showing up at a Midwestern Star Wars convention.
Coca-Cola (NYSE: KO) was number one, followed by IBM (NYSE: IBM), Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), Google (Nasdaq: GOOG), and McDonald's (NYSE: MCD).
Making one of the strongest move, and really the only notable move on the list aside from a two-spot slip by Louis Vuitton, was Apple, Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL), which shifted from the 17th spot to number eight.
Basically, Apple took the place of Nokia (NYSE: NOK), which moved from eight to 14 in 2011.
Apple's change in brand value, which Interbrands calculates at 58 percent, was also by far out of the top 100.
