The battle between Apple and Samsung continues.
Samsung has asked for the Japanese and Australian governments to halt all sales of Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) new iPhone 4S. The company also asked for Japan's government to stop the sale of Apples iPad 2 and the older iPhone 4.
The company is reported to have filed for preliminary injunctions in the Tokyo District Court and in the New South Wales Registry, of Austrilia. Samsung is already in the process of getting Italy and France to ban the sale of Apple's iPhone 4S.
These lawsuits come after the banning of the sale of Samsung's Galaxy 10.1 tablet in Australia after Apple's own suit.
While the filing in Australia notes infringements on patents related to wireless telecommunications standards, the Japan filing highlights infringements in technology and user-interface patents.
Shares of AAPL are trading up $1.05 in the pre-market hours of trading to $423.05 today.
